GSCOP Training - an essential component of your training offer

In the UK there is legislation that is designed to assure ‘fair and lawful’ trading that applies to UK’s Top 14 Grocery Retailers. It is overseen by a government appointed Adjudicator and is called GSCOP (Groceries Supply Code of Practice). The retailers designated to be governed by the legislation are: Tesco, Sainsbury, Waitrose, Morrisons, Asda, Co-op, Aldi, Amazon, B&M Retail, Ocado, M&S, Iceland, Home Bargains, Amazon.

Interestingly a recent UKGOV survey of over 3000 suppliers discovered that 39% of account teams had NOT received training on GSCOP Legislation!! This number increases to over 50% for smaller suppliers! The reason for not training their teams is stated as not knowing what it is available or where to source it!
